What is the Purpose of Accepting Credit Cards?

5:11 am Business

The purpose of accepting credit cards is actually quite simple. In actuality, by accepting credit cards you are accepting more money. Credit card payments are a form of money, even if you aren’t receiving cash immediately. If you went to a department store or a supermarket expecting to use your credit card to pay and then you found out you could, what would you do?

First of all, if you don’t have any other cash, you have no choice but to walk out. Are you then going to go to the bank, get some cash, come back, and buy what you are buying?  You probably won’t do this. You’re so upset about the inconvenience that you decided to go to another store.

The same as what will happen when you don’t give your customers a choice to use a credit card. This will happen with every single customer, especially if they are used to using credit cards with your company, but it is very likely that you will lose some customers if you don’t accept credit cards as a form of payment from customers. It isn’t hard to get set up to accept credit cards, so you might as well bite the bullet and do what you need to do.
